Vilnius, Lithuania – 4 June 2026
The HUCO Labs project successfully held its fourth Transnational Project Meeting (TPM) in Vilnius, Lithuania, from 2 to 4 June 2026. Hosted by Sunrise Tech Park, the meeting brought together the entire consortium to review progress and shape the next phase of the project.
The meeting opened with an overview of the project’s implementation and upcoming activities, followed by an exchange with representatives from the Lithuanian innovation and education ecosystem. Stakeholders from higher education institutions shared their experiences of collaborating with industry and discussed emerging skills needs in technology-driven sectors. The session provided valuable insights into how educational institutions and businesses can work together to strengthen innovation capacity and prepare future talent.
A central focus of the meeting was the collaborative planning of the project’s next steps. Through a series of interactive workshops, partners reflected on the current state of the HUCO Labs network, explored future development opportunities, and identified priorities for the project’s remaining implementation period. These activities enabled partners to build a shared vision for the future while defining concrete actions, responsibilities, and timelines.

The programme also included a visit to the Semiconductor Optics Laboratory and the Photonics Technology and Devices Laboratory of the Center for Physical Sciences and Technology (FTMC), Lithuania’s largest scientific research institution. The visit offered participants an opportunity to learn more about cutting-edge research activities and strengthen links between education, research, and innovation.
On 4 June, project partners participated in the DigiGreen Conference 2026, one of Europe’s leading conferences on digital innovation and the green transition. HUCO Labs was presented as part of a discussion on future skills, innovation ecosystems, and workforce development, further increasing the project’s visibility among policymakers, industry representatives, and innovation experts.
Throughout the meeting, partners engaged in constructive dialogue, strategic planning, and knowledge exchange, reinforcing their shared commitment to developing innovative educational pathways for mid-level technicians and strengthening cooperation between vocational education, higher education, research organisations, and industry.
